The Lung Cancer Connection is a group of lung cancer survivors, patient advocates and advisors who are working together to help newly diagnosed patients and their families, improve treatment, educate the general public and help fund lung cancer research.
In September 2008, Myrtle Chidester and Cheryl Lamprecht met through a Lung Cancer Networking Group sponsored by the Wellness Community. As we shared our stories we found each of us had been blindsided with the diagnosis of Lung Cancer. As our dialogue continued, we discovered that we were equally disturbed by experiences regarding the general prognoses of Lung Cancer patients, treatment options available to us and the ensuing implications for our bodies, our spirits and our lives.
Accepting in some measure that our fates may be cast . . . we found strength in our shared commitment to improve the experience of future Lung Cancer victims.
