CloseWhat is this?
MySTLtoday is a civic social network for people, groups and businesses located in the St. Louis metropolitan area.

OK, but what does that mean?
We’re aiming to foster a local community dedicated to discussion and expression. At our sister site, STLtoday.com, we cover events that our reporters and editors dig up. This site is dedicated to the stories, photos, videos and more that you capture and care to discuss around your neighborhoods – and around the news.

At MySTLtoday, every person has a personal blog, photo gallery, video gallery, and a profile. You can be as public or private as you care to be. You can add other people to your friends list, as you would on sites like MySpace or Facebook.

In addition to your individual space on MySTLtoday, you also have the option to join different groups within the community. Groups can be anything from a parenting discussion to a forum for disc golf players, a neighborhood watch association, or a way for local musicians to keep in touch with each other. If you’re interested in hosting an existing group with us, just let us know – it’s free and we’re happy to help. Just drop us a line or get started by clicking here.

Can I promote my business on MySTLtoday?
Yes! Businesses can participate in this local community with a profile of their own. All basic business listings are free, and they’re managed by the MySTLtoday staff. To really take advantage of the MySTLtoday network, businesses can purchase an enhanced profile for a small monthly fee. This allows businesses to stay in touch with their most loyal customers, offer coupons, showcase products and announce special events. Contact Michael Wagner if you’re interested by e-mail at mwagner@stltoday.com or call 314-657-3311. We’re currently live with businesses connected to the wedding industry, with more to follow shortly.

Is there anything I can’t do?
You can post anything you’d like here, within reason. Check out terms of service for the full rundown of do’s and don’ts , but it basically boils down to common sense and common courtesy. If you wouldn’t say it in front of your mom, don’t post it in public.
Welcome to MySTLtoday!

Letting your child go into a public restroom alone Fri, 20 Nov 2009 16:00:53 Z
At what age did you let your opposite-sex child go to the restroom in a public place without you? My son is 5 and I thought I could let him go into a bathroom by himself (with me standing outside). But a stranger talked to him in there (he just said "Hi") and my son freaked out. I worry though that at 5 he's a little old for the ladies room.

Always something new Fri, 20 Nov 2009 15:58:42 Z
I will say this about this section of the My St today.  it isn't afraid of change.  It seems like it is constantly evolving with the way things are set up.  I like that.  You never know what to expect when you fire up your computer to this area.  So to whomever is in charge of this I say thank you for your imagination and effort.  I am sure you have many working...

Money 101 - Estate Planning Wed, 18 Nov 2009 18:55:12 Z
This is a great article on the BASICS of estate planning. Why should everyone have some sort of an estate plan? Not just for the rich? Not just for the old? That's right. Read this article from CNN Money and find out what documents you may need! http://money.cnn.com/magazines/moneymag/money101/lesson21/index.htm If you or someone you know is interested in learning what our firm can offe...

Okay. I Think I've Got This Figured Out. Sat, 14 Nov 2009 19:54:22 Z
The biggest need for the Tigers offense is to utilize the single wing and the triple option more out of the spread offense.  Coach Pinkel is relying too much on Blaine Gabbert's throwing arm and the forward passing game.  Today's game should prove a point to Coach about what is going down here.

Announcement

Ever been to a restaurant and had service so outstanding that you wanted to rave about it to the rest of the world?

Or been to a movie that you thought was kid-friendly, only to find out that that “mild sexual innuendo” really translated to full-frontal nudity?

Or been to a “smoke-free” venue that was so congested in smoke that you had to burn your clothes when you got home?

Now you have a chance to share your experience. You can celebrate your favorites or warn about your disappointments.

You can go to events.stltoday.com and rate movies, performers, restaurants or events. Your opinion will be shared with the biggest online audience in St. Louis - at least twice as big as Sauce, Alive, RFT and Metromix combined.
