CloseWhat is this?
MySTLtoday is a civic social network for people, groups and businesses located in the St. Louis metropolitan area.

OK, but what does that mean?
We’re aiming to foster a local community dedicated to discussion and expression. At our sister site, STLtoday.com, we cover events that our reporters and editors dig up. This site is dedicated to the stories, photos, videos and more that you capture and care to discuss around your neighborhoods – and around the news.

At MySTLtoday, every person has a personal blog, photo gallery, video gallery, and a profile. You can be as public or private as you care to be. You can add other people to your friends list, as you would on sites like MySpace or Facebook.

In addition to your individual space on MySTLtoday, you also have the option to join different groups within the community. Groups can be anything from a parenting discussion to a forum for disc golf players, a neighborhood watch association, or a way for local musicians to keep in touch with each other. If you’re interested in hosting an existing group with us, just let us know – it’s free and we’re happy to help. Just drop us a line or get started by clicking here.

Can I promote my business on MySTLtoday?
Yes! Businesses can participate in this local community with a profile of their own. All basic business listings are free, and they’re managed by the MySTLtoday staff. To really take advantage of the MySTLtoday network, businesses can purchase an enhanced profile for a small monthly fee. This allows businesses to stay in touch with their most loyal customers, offer coupons, showcase products and announce special events. Contact Michael Wagner if you’re interested by e-mail at mwagner@stltoday.com or call 314-657-3311. We’re currently live with businesses connected to the wedding industry, with more to follow shortly.

Is there anything I can’t do?
You can post anything you’d like here, within reason. Check out terms of service for the full rundown of do’s and don’ts , but it basically boils down to common sense and common courtesy. If you wouldn’t say it in front of your mom, don’t post it in public.
Welcome to MySTLtoday!

I was scammed by Harster Heating and Cooling yesterday! I had a part replaced on my furnace and was charged $69.00 for a service call and $546.93 for the part! I started doing some research on the internet today and found the same part for $130.00. So I called Harster, not giving my name and asked how much the part would cost to buy and install myself. I was told $231.40. So I went to Harster and ...

We had the best time last weekend. Started out at the St Louis mills. We watched young and old ice skating and then saw skateboarding, car racing, rock climbing, and mini golf all the mills. It is a great place to take the family but a little expensive. From there we drove to O Fallon and Lake St Louis to see how it had changed since we moved away. That evening we stayed at a great hotel with ...

I have become addicted to Mario golf. Yes me a 68 year old grandmother feels the need to play this game morning noon and night. I am the little red headed girl named Daisy. I like to play against Yoshi because he makes funny noises. It all started when we went to visit our grandchildren in Colorado Springs. It is all my grandson and granddaughter's fault. They have had a new beautiful home...

The Mid America TEEN CERT program is designed to teach students how to identify the types of disasters and hazards most likely to affect their homes, schools and communities. Young adults ages 12-18 (as well as adults) are trained to assist in the event of an emergency and or natural disaster, and to be prepared to assist their families and emergency services. Announcement

Ever been to a restaurant and had service so outstanding that you wanted to rave about it to the rest of the world?

Or been to a movie that you thought was kid-friendly, only to find out that that “mild sexual innuendo” really translated to full-frontal nudity?

Or been to a “smoke-free” venue that was so congested in smoke that you had to burn your clothes when you got home?

Now you have a chance to share your experience. You can celebrate your favorites or warn about your disappointments.

You can go to events.stltoday.com and rate movies, performers, restaurants or events. Your opinion will be shared with the biggest online audience in St. Louis - at least twice as big as Sauce, Alive, RFT and Metromix combined.
