Brian Valenta of St. Charles today qualiffied for the PBA Shark Championship tournament in Baltimore. He finished 5th in the Tournament Qualifying Round, out of the 7 spots available for non-exempt pros.  

The PBA continues to push two-hander Jason Belmonte to be the next superstar, however, this reporter sees Valenta as the best kept secret in the U.S.

He finished 9th in this year's US Open. 'Nuff said. Good luck Brian, see you Monday at St. Charles.

Roll for the Dough, 10am, Bowland in Granite City. $50 entry fee. Congratulations to Dwaine Stiegmeier for winning the Roll for the Dough tournament last Sunday at Riverboat Lanes in Godfrey.

Roll for the Dough has a tournament scheduled Dec. 21 at Bowl Haven in Alton. Also the same day is the West Park Sport Challenge at West Park Lanes in Columbia, Illinois
