Yeah, it was one of those.

My son, who started middle school this year, was telling me about a friend of his who was showing off his "six pack" (trust me, it starts THAT early)!  And instead of getting upset or jealous, my son says to me "I'm okay with my 1 and 1/2 pack mom". 

I couldn't stop laughing.  And it made me realize that the one MOST IMPORTANT thing a parent can raise their kid with is: 

A SENSE OF HUMOR!

I know, pretty simple, right?  But if you think about it, a good sense of humor can get any person through the roughest times.   Why, I do believe that even God has a sense of humor!  Because every time I make a plan, he laughs at me!

A child with a sense of humor is more likely to be able to handle all the bumps and waves in life.  I'm not saying it's a cure all.  In order for kids develop into healthy adults, I think they need to get through some rough times.  As my own mother used to say to me "Honey it builds character".  And, she was right. 

But to be able to laugh at oneself and at all the silly, crazy, funny, insane things humans have to go through in day to day existence, is a great trait to teach all our kids!
