Swimsuits for little girls too revealing

I can understand putting an infant or baby girl in a two-piece swimsuit...It's much easier to change a diaper that way. But, why are the vast majority of swimsuits for grade school and middle school-aged girls such skimpy bikinis? I buy the one piece suits for my daughter or the swim shirts with skirt bottoms, but she feels like they are so uncool.
