FRIENDS.........................YES
Posted by: pokie too at 12:38AM CST on July 23, 2009
Never over the years have I filled so fulfilled.  Though yes I have Parkinson's Disease and yes I do have Acute RA, I have such an abundance of friends that I am so thankful for. In October of 2007 I logged on to Patientslikeme.com, Parkinson;s Group.  I had never done anything like that before but God surely led me there because my life has completely changed as has the site for it.  At that time there were only a handful of posters on the forum and only 267 members in all.  Today the membership is up to 3700 and growing daily.  we are totally public now and I am in the Parkinson Disease Foundation, Unity Walk, Parkinson Action Network and travel extensively doing actovist work and learning all I can.   One thing we use to do was go to a chat room early in the morning and pretend we wwere in the coffee shop and discuss how we felt and the coming days events and often played around.....Somehow we had drifted away from this, thinking we were too busy and did have time for such sillyness until yesterday when I decided to start it up again.  Tomight we meet at 10:30 Illinois time and spent two hours really having a blast and Parkinson's was not mentioned the whole time...great fun and lots of laughs   both are needed in Parkinson's too    thanks girls and guys     love pokie

WOW, WOW, WOW......
Posted by: pokie too at 1:12PM CST on April 29, 2009
This could be called "What a Day in the Neighborhood" and pass with flying colors.  I have been to three blog sites this morning, just posting to my hearts content and now I have saved the best for last....

Saturday at 12:00 noon Vandalia, Illinois is hosting the First Annual Neurological Disorder Conference at the Kaskaskia College Educational Blg on Fillmore Street. and it is turning into quite the event.  With 20 some odd booths registered for display and speakers from the three state area attending, it should be a fun time for all...The 2009 Parkinson Unity Quilt will be on Display after making such a splash in New York City this weekend at the 2009 Parkinson's Unity Walk....The word is out too that even Abe Lincoln will be visiting our good time. David Zid and Jackie Russell will be in from Columbus, Ohio with the Delay the Disease Book and Program and for anyone who has witnessed their display on exercise it is awesome.Debbie Guyer will be in from the STL APDA with Washington Univ to explain the LSVT Speak Loud Program.

Anyone interested in or dealing with Parkinson's or any other Neurological Disorder will find this conference well worth their time and effort.  Bring the family and enjoy.....
